Cuteness overload... and then some!

I arrived yesterday and hit the ground running!

Bottle feeding lambs was something I had really been looking forward to but I had totally  underestimated how cute they would be, all disproportionate and gangly with big ears and thick short legs, tight little woolly coats and loud voices. They are ADORABLE!!!

This is Laureen and James farm. A little slice of New Zealand paradise just north of Palmerston North. Rolling green hills, cows as curious as I am, ewes protecting new lambs, dew in the morning, scattered clouds in a blue sky.

Day 1 - Feeding the little ones that James knows need a bit more care than their moms can manage:

Day 2 - A stunning morning, birds singing and sun rising brightly.

The perfect day to give birth... if all goes according to plan. This one didn't and I was invited to help with a stuck lamb this morning. Its poor mom arrived to the paddock near the house via ATV - Her baby's nose and tongue and a bit of a hoof visible, but the rest of him firmly wedged inside!

Success!

Then it was time to learn the formula of formula, and feed the babies again.
