It was cold and BEAUTIFUL!

Pre-8am and the flurries were flying in the neighborhood. I headed for the hills, all bundled up.

Stopping to take pics, my fingers were freezing and through my mask, my nose was too. But amazingly the higher I went, the warmer and sunnier it was.

A beautiful day for an early morning hike, if I do say so myself. (And a good way to remind myself what it will feel like on a freezing morning enroute to Everest base camp!)

Let's get planning! EBC awaits.

Call me crazy but that dream to get to Everest Base Camp did NOT die when a pandemic came calling last year.  It simply got "pushed"... to 2021 (fingers crossed).

So, its February 4th and 9 months from now I'm expecting us to be... you know... on the trail in Nepal.  Eating fried rice and noodle bowls, momos and anything out of whatever bakery I have the pleasure of finding. And leave it all as energy on the trail after hiking 180km to the Khumbu ice fall and back

First things first:
- drop those COVID pounds that snuck up on me last year.
- start moving a lot more and let my body know I expect great things from it.
- research the heck out of the trip so my ol' brain is prepared too.

Mark is out of town this weekend,  so it's just me and the furry children. Rusty and I are tucked up in bed,  watching EBC Youtube vlogs.

Hes a very enthusiastic planning partner! There is joy and gratitude etched into his wee orange face.

Right up to the point he falls asleep,  anyway.
