Sunrise with the fur seals is A-OK with me! They enjoyed their sleep-in as I trod carefully and took hundreds of seal pics!
Then I took to the wading birds...
The lazy drive further north to Blenheim was de-lightful! Lots of rugged coastline and tidal pools to explore. I took rocks! Am I allowed? I dunno. But they were small and white and smooth and as I held one in my pocket it just felt nice. Crazy as this sounds, I thought taking a few home to my person of significance, seemed fitting.
At Blenheim, I stopped to take a call from Ma and Pa. Their plans to arrive tomorrow with caravan in tow, had been thwarted by brake issues and now, the arrival via Picton ferry would be sans caravan. It was hot outside and I had cooked myself by chatting in the car in the peak of the day. (I would never do this to Teddy, so why did I do it to me?!) I "needed gelato" before finding my way to the Airbnb just outside of Renwick.
Tony and Eva's carriage house was my home away from home tonight. They were gracious hosts who seemed to enjoy giving me tea and cake as much as I enjoyed taking it, then I settled in to a quiet evening petting sheep, drinking wine and just being.
I'm in wine country!!!
