Before leaving wine country, I could be spotted at 9am taking selfies with wine estate signs that Donnie and I have become very familiar with! What? It's not like I drank the wine at 9am! I appreciated it in my own way though.
Getting to Picton a few hours before the ferry gave me time to repack and organize, do some meal prep and get a hike in. I walked through town and the fancy-pants marina, up and over a steep, bushy peninsula of sorts, to Bob's Bay. It was alive with song of the cicada. Deafeningly so!
Ma and Pa looked no worse for wear considering they felt the weight of a stressful week; last minute repack out of the caravan, long drive, overnight stay and 3 hour ferry, to get here! We picnicked with the assorted food between us then talked/planned/visited, before booking a cabin for them tonight and heading out toward Havelock via the Queen Charlotte Drive.
Bathroom break first.... 'cause this is funny and everyone should see it!
I planned to spend tomorrow with them too and there was to be an excursion involved!
